Standard
This document presents a summary of bibliographic database standards prepared by the RSA Database Management Committee in 1999. The standards ensure consistent and quality cataloging practices for the shared RSA database. The standards include discussion of the various cataloging levels, descriptive cataloging standards, duplication, error correction, training, and supplies.
The RSA Bibliographic Standards Subcommittee met from November 2012 to October 2013 to begin revising the RSA Bibliographic Standards. In April 2014, the Bibliographic Standards Subcommittee disbanded because RSA started to plan and then implemented a centralized cataloging department the following year.
The RSA Bibliographic Standards remain in effect until further notice.
